School Readiness


Kids In Tuition is a licensed provider of the Begin Bright School Readiness Programs. We focus on supporting our youngest learners in the early stages of development and school life. Our programs assist children in building confidence and creating a love of learning, so they can flourish when they start school.


Our programs align with the Early Years Learning Framework and Australian Curriculum giving young children a balanced introduction to learning. The programs are designed to give focused attention to the development of early literacy and numeracy skills, as well as social skills, school routines and fine motor development.

All of our programs are designed to be enjoyable and give kids the absolute best start to their education.

Throughout all of our school readiness programs children are supported to:

  • Confidently approach tasks

  • Demonstrate an understanding of age-appropriate literacy and numeracy skills

  • Develop a phonemic knowledge of words

  • Work in groups

  • Follow instructions

  • Build independence

  • Build school readiness skills

 

What’s your child’s level?


3-4 Year Olds

  • Maximum of 8 students per class

  • Early Years Learning Framework and Australian Curriculum aligned

  • A combination of group, one-on-one and independent work encouraged

  • Concentration on fundamentals of maths and literacy (reading, writing and oral language) skills

  • Pencil grip and hand-eye co-ordination are developed to support the preparation of writing.

  • Craft and movement activities also enhance physical and fine motor skills

  • Lessons focus on single sounds and numbers 1-10.

4-5 Year Olds

  • Maximum of 8 students per class

  • Early Years Learning Framework and Australian Curriculum aligned

  • Designed to support children in their transition to school

  • A combination of group, one-on-one and independent work encouraged

  • Concentration on fundamentals of maths and literacy (reading, writing and oral language) skills

  • Activities introduce reading and writing skills and enhance children’s language skills

  • Children learn to identify sound formations as letters, recognise sounds in words and write words containing the sounds.

  • Focuses on recognising and writing numbers 1-20 and learning to add single-digit numbers

  • Writing skills continue to be developed, including pencil grip and hand-eye coordination, as children transition into readily printing letters and numerals

  • Develops social, emotional and behavioural skills that children require to transition to school.
